The State Controlling Board has approved the release of $340,000 for the State Construction Assistance for Community Mental Health Facilities program, some of which is destined for Lucas County.

An 18-unit building will be purchased and renovated in the county to house mentally disabled people and their families.

"This type of funding will greatly assist the Lucas County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board in providing quality housing and care for its resident," state Rep. Lynn Olman (R., Maumee) said.

The controlling board released $100,000 for the renovation and modernization of a Springfield Township fire station.

"We rely on the life-saving techniques of those firefighters, and this project will ensure that their station meets their growing needs," Mr. Olman said.
